I’ve only used this to post pictures but this picture has a long story involving me, @neilhimself, and @biggayicecream. So I was waiting in line for @biggayicecream with @jensmallwords, when all of a sudden @neilhimself appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. That’s when I snapped this picture of him next to the ice cream truck. I remained in line for a minute or two, hoping that he would still be there by the time I got up front. I realized that he probably wouldn’t be standing there for too long, so I walked over to him as he was taking a few pictures with people. As he started to leave, I asked if I could speak with him briefly. I could tell that he either needed or wanted to head back inside, so I said I’ll be quick and that I can say what I needed to by the time we reached the door. So, I walked alongside Neil and said that I am a librarian in NYC and that the budget was looking grim. I asked if I tweeted at him, would he be able to retweet a website in support of the libraries. He kindly agreed and headed back inside. I quickly sent off a tweet and within a few minutes he had retweeted my message to his nearly million and a half followers. I am grateful that Neil took the time to listen to me as we walked and very appreciative that he helped spread the word about helping libraries in NYC.
